Savior Praying

People have asked me why I spend time writing in my blog. Some have asked if I’m looking to write a book. Others wonder if I’m looking to officially begin a podcast. Though I haven’t seriously considered doing either, I’ll share with those who are interested why I do this.

I found myself for a significant period of time far away from where and who our Heavenly Father and Savior wanted me to be. Poor choices compounded one on top of the other. Each made me feel worse than the previous one. On top of that, as I struggled to get my footing, ironically, there were those on the path who pushed me away from it.

At a moment, where I felt that hope was gone and life was not worth living, the Lord, in His kindness and condescension, stretched out His hand to extend His love and mercy to me. Though, before my detour, I tried to be an instrument in His hands in the past in teaching and succoring others, I found out in a way that is sacred and unmistakable, that not only does He live, but also that He loves us all. He is serious about saving each and every one of us whether or not we believe we are savable. Despite the dark places we’ve been, His light will always lead us to His life and love.

I love you my dear friends. My prayer for you and me is that we feel and know the love of the Father and the Son in our lives. Their promise to us is a remission of sins, redemption from death, and rest to our souls (Alma 37:34). I know these things are true, “not of any worthiness of myself” (Alma 36:5), but through the power and gift of the Holy Ghost. In the sacred name of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, amen.
